Balancing Investment with Levels of Service and Extracting
Value for Private Operators and Investors |
| |
| |
Airports are increasingly becoming privately owned assets across the world. However,
large levels of investment are required at regular intervals in order to meet demand
especially in the developing world. In addition, recently privatised airports have a
commitment to governments and users of maintaining minimum levels of service.
This half a day workshop will focus on the key issue of investment at airports and how
operators can balance investment with levels of service and extracting value for private
operators and investors. In doing so key topics covered will include:
| |
| |
Understanding the airport business |
| |
The PPP model and concession agreements |
| |
Regulatory issues that affect investment decisions in India |
| |
Involving key stakeholders in the decision making process and getting airlines and
other users to pay their fair share at airports |
| |
Enhancing nonaeronautical revenues |
| |
Understanding where international operators provide value |
| |
Anticipating demand levels and market needs |
| |
Balancing airside and landside capacities |
| |
Developing better connections to airports |
| |
Prioritising investment to deliver capacity benefits while providing returns to the
private investor |
| |
Lessons learned from airport privatisation around the world that could benefit the
Indian privatisation effort |
